NORRISTOWN — The Clerk of Courts Office has entered into a contract with Official Payments, Inc. to provide an internet credit card payment interface for the payment of fines, costs and restitution.

 

This new functionality will provide a payment alternative to those individuals wishing to make payments to our office online.  Prior to the implementation of this system, all credit card payments had to be made in person in our office.

 

Users with internet capability can now make a payment anywhere, anytime.  There is a convenience fee that is paid to the provider - $13.75 per transaction; however, the convenience of not having to leave home may be an attractive alternative to a portion of our users.

 

Users without internet access may also phone in credit card payments to the same company. 

 

Internet payments may be made through the Clerk of Courts webpage on the county website (www.montcopa.org/coc) by clicking on the “Official Payments” logo. 

 

It is the Clerk of Courts mission to continually seek to provide additional services to the courts and the public.  Through the work of our staff and particularly First Deputy Marcy Toepel, who spearheaded this project, this new payment method has been implemented at no cost to the county.
